About Catcher in the Rye

Now I am reading 'Catcher in the Rye'(Salinger) and advanced to page 90.I confessed I read this novel almost 20 years ago. But I could not understand it well at that time. But this time I really enjoyed reading it.I enjoyed the simple and extraordinary plot. And I enjoyed some specific expressions Saringer wrote like the scene between Holden and his dorms mate Stradlater ,Holden said "That's  just the trouble with you all the morons. You never want to discuss anything. That's the way you can tell a moron.". I think word ' moron' is very strong word usually even native speaker never use in ordinary conversation. And he use many numbers like , he wash his hand hundred times but neve wash his teeth once ///.(sorry I can not find the phrase. )I know this novel's plot but expression still have great attraction to me. It still sell 250000 copies every year now.

That's really nice to read you! I completely understand what you feel... It happens to me sometimes to read a book and have a complete different impression when I read it later...
So I'm really happy to read about your experience.
I'm not a native speaker but I have this same feeling about the word "moron". I've seen it in novels quite often but never got to hear it in real life, so I guess you're right! :)
